The last decade of Taylor Sheridan's career has been quite extraordinary. No one can accuse him of failing to make the most of the opportunities that he created for himself when he pivoted from acting to writing. Having introduced himself to the industry with the acclaimed movie Sicario, Sheridan received an Oscar nomination for writing the neo-Western gem Hell or High Water, which was released in 2016. Two years later, he delivered his magnum opus, the Paramount+ series Yellowstone, which ran until 2023 and spawned several spin-offs. During this time, Sheridan also created a host of other hit shows for the streamer, and he is now preparing to begin a creative partnership with NBCUniversal. However, his work continues to draw huge audiences to Paramount+, and the year 2026 has been especially packed.
Sheridan released his new original series, The Madison, earlier this year. Starring Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer, the show opened to critical acclaim and has already been renewed for a second season. It was followed by the Yellowstone spin-off Dutton Ranch, which he was only tangentially involved in. More recently, Sheridan delivered the third season of his espionage thriller series Lioness, starring Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, and Morgan Freeman. The new season broke viewership records for the show, and was the number-one title on Paramount+ until it was overtaken this past week by the returning crime drama series MobLand. Sheridan will likely reclaim the number-one spot soon with the second season of another Yellowstone spin-off.
