Quentin Tarantino has only directed nine movies in his career, but he’s still widely known as one of the most polarizing filmmakers of all time, if not the most. Best known for his work on classic crime thrillers like Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill, Tarantino has also ventured into other genres like WWII movies and epic Westerns for hits like Inglourious Basterds and The Hateful Eight. It’s quickly approaching 10 years since Tarantino directed a feature film — he last helmed Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, which hit theaters in 2019. Tarantino, who famously makes movies cheaper than most other directors, convinced the studio to invest $90 million into the making of the 2019 showbiz epic, but it more than proved its worth by grossing $409 million at the global box office.

Although it’s been over seven years since Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood hit theaters, there hasn’t been much news regarding Quentin Tarantino’s next directorial feature. There were whispers that he was working on a movie centered around a movie critic, but most of these rumors have been discredited. While he isn’t directing the film, Tarantino is returning to theaters soon for a new sequel, The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, which stars Brad Pitt as the titular character. Leonardo DiCaprio is not expected to reprise his role as Rick Dalton in the film, but it will return Timothy Olyphant to his role as James Stacy. Directed by David Fincher (The Social Network, Zodiac, Se7en), The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth is coming to IMAX theaters on November 25 before it begins streaming on Netflix in December.

What Is Quentin Tarantino’s Best Movie?

The matter of Quentin Tarantino’s best movie is certainly subjective, as the director doesn’t have a definitive best feature film, but he does have a few that would get plenty of votes if someone were to conduct a poll. One movie that would perhaps get more votes than any other Tarantino movie is Pulp Fiction — not only did the 90s crime thriller earn more than 25x its budget, but it also won multiple Oscars and features all-time performances from stars like John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson. Some of Tarantino’s other popular films, like Django Unchained and Jackie Brown, would likely also get some votes, though not as many as some of his more widely known classics.
