Best known for his role as Nate Archibald in Gossip Girl, Chace Crawford recently carved out a name for himself in the superhero genre thanks to the Prime Video original series, The Boys. Alongside his co-stars such as Antony Starr as Homelander and Karl Urban as Billy Butcher in the series, Crawford delivered a standout performance in the superhero series. Now that the show is over, Crawford is looking forward to his new series, The Land, which is billed as a mash-up of Friday Night Lights and Succession. The series hails from creator Dan Fogelman, but there's still no word yet on when it will be released on Hulu.

While Gossip Girl and The Boys are widely viewed as the most famous projects of Chace Crawford's career, Crawford is also known for one of his earliest roles as Tyler Simms in The Covenant, the 2006 cult classic fantasy movie that's streaming on both Hulu and Starz, as well as the free platform, Tubi. Sebastian Stan also stars in The Covenant as Chase Collins, with Taylor Kitsch featuring in a key role as Pogue Parry.

Crawford recently caught up with Collider for an interview at SLC to chat about the many projects of his career, and Maggie Lovitt asked him if he shared the same opinion on The Covenant as Sebastian Stan, who has jokingly referred to it as one of the campiest projects of the early days of his career. "Listen, I get why Seb, you know… it's definitely cheesy, but it's good," he said. Continuing, he told Collider: "I always joke about doing a second one, but no one's doing a second one. And I'm still friends with him [Stan]; he was on Gossip Girl in the beginning stages of that first season and lived in New York. [Taylor] Kitsch as well."

Despite the mostly poor reception to the film, which was bad enough to warrant a 4% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, Crawford confirms that he looks back on the project with fond memories: "We all had a great time. That was really my first experience, and I think he's in a bigger movie. They don't make that kind of mid-budget movie anymore. But I'm sure if I went back and watched it now, it would be hilarious."

What Is 'The Covenant' About?

Chace Crawford - The Covenant

J.S. Cardone wrote the script for The Covenant and Renny Harlin directed the film. Harlin is also known for his work directing the 1993 Sylvester Stallone thriller, Cliffhanger, which is being remade by Pierce Brosnan 30 years later. Additional cast members for The Covenant include Steven Strait as Caleb Danvers, Toby Hemingway as Reid Garwin, Laura Ramsey as Sarah Wenham, and Jessica Lucas as Kate Tunney. The official synopsis for the film reads as follows:

“In the 17th century, five families with supernatural powers make a pact of silence. Eventually, one power-hungry family is banished. The descendants of those four remaining families are heirs to tremendous power. Known as the Sons of Ipswich, the boys attend the elite Spencer Academy. When a student there is found dead after a party, unraveling secrets threaten to shatter the pact that has protected the boys' families for centuries.”
